Allow top function panel to scroll if too many buttons to fit

I noticed that when the right side function panel has more buttons than will fit on the screen that it is possible to scroll this panel up and down - video here - very nice hidden feature. On my phone I can only have a maximum of 5 buttons on the top panel. Instead of this limitation I suggest the top panel can if necessary scroll left & right to show all buttons, similar in operation to the right side panel. Don't place any limit to the number of buttons on either panel, just allow user to tap-drag scroll.

should be quite easy, not?

there is enough space in the right panel. So we do not need that in the upper one.

Let people decide themselves, not patronize them.

Hehe, I agree with freischneider :).

Anyway, If I implement this, it will have one bigger side effect. Currently, if you place for example 5 items to the top, left panel with extra information (title, map, coordinates etc.) shrink to give these buttons enough space. If I do the panel for buttons scrollable, this "info panel" will have fixed width, so it will never shrink and it is possible that on smaller devices, even 4 buttons in top panel will already scroll. Hope my explanation is clear.

Is this still ok for you?

Why not add the "info panel" as any other item (button-function/ link) to the function panel configuration. This way the user can decide if they want any info panel at all. At present I "hide" the info panel by having 5 buttons in the top panel as the info panel is generally of no use to me.
