Hello,
I use Locus Map Pro for different activities, biking, hiking, etc.
I created for each activity a certain profile for tracking (Settings -> Track recording).
For each activity I created a different dashboard, too.
At the moment I have to switch the dashboard manually each time I change the activity.
It would be very helpful if it would be possible to configure a certain dashboard in a certain tracking profile:
Hiking - > Dashboard Hiking
Biking -> Dashboard Biking
and so on.
I think this should be easy to implement but would makes using Locus Map much more comfortable.

Great Idea!
Additionally, it would be nice to be able to select a different dashboard not only for track recording in general, but rather for each individual track recording profile.
I oftentimes only start track recording at the beginning of a bike tour. However, my modified bike dashboard has a trackchart item for the navigation altitude profile, which is useless when not navigating and only uses up screenspace. So it would be nice to have a cleaner "track record only" bike dashboard for this situation, which should switch to a "full featured" bike dashboard when I activate navigation in addition to the track recording.

But for me it would be totally sufficient, if the dashboard would not disappear all the time. I don't have a clue, when it is switched off, but I have to enable it several times a day (during my trips) and this is quite annoying.

The OP idea could not be edited anymore, I have posted in another topic a more complex concept of which this extension would be part:
Built-in minidashboards for navigation/guiding would be unified with user editable dashboards, on next Locus init it would create predefined navi/guiding dashboards and assign each to guiding and navigation mode (if not once created).
Next it would remain up to user if he edits pre-created dashboards, use another dashboards, or even use none. The precreated navi/guiding dashboards are anticipated to have identical layout like current built-ins.
The wider concept would only require the user dashboard fields repository be extended by interactive Next turn symbol button (possibly customizable if show secondary turn). All textual fields already are present.

I was looking for a similar option right now - my initial idea was to automatically select a dashboard depending on which profile i have set for track recording - as I want to see different information depending on the activity I am doing.
Definitely +1 ;) Would be cool if this feature could be implemented.
Cheers

@Menion: Any news about that?
Balloni55 gave me the hint that changing the dashboard can be done via "Presets", so I think it should be easy to implement the same feature (individual dashboard in a tracking profile) in the profiles section as a one-click solution.
I mean automatic change of the dashboard that could be preconfigured in a recording profile.

Hello Hannes, others,
current most optimal method how to use dashboards with certain activities is over system of Presets.
Result is simple: before every activity, you have to select a preset from list of own predefined presets. You preset may, among others, contains also selected dashboard that will be activated. So all together, two additional taps.
System of presets was since begin made with one main idea in mind: quickly change bunch of settings at once. What is requested here may be technically achieved from few different places ( directly in certain activity, by extending presets system or by extending dashboards ) and even if I agree that such improvement will be usable, I'll still not perfectly sure about optimal method. Thanks for understanding.
