Distance rings smaller then 100m

Hi

The distance rings have minimum value = 100m. But it's not enough for zoom levels 21 and 22- they are not visible.

May be for these levels to add 25m and 50m rings?

Good day Dmitry,

may you please write me what is a usage of 25m and 50m big circles? Even existing 100m or 200m are quite on edge, because main usage is for fast distance estimates during travel and for such small distances, it lost it's benefit, because such values are directly visible by eyes.

Good day, Menion

For example - distance to my favorite places with mushrooms :)

In our forests 100m is a quite big distance. I can't see further than 50m in such conditions, so I usually set 21 or 22 zoom level

What about make visible 50/25 m rings ONLY for 21-22 zoom?

Good day Dmitry,

understand, thank You for additional information.

Unfortunately I still think that your use-case is quite rare and usage of such tiny circles is really really low.

Idea declined, sorry.

Hi Menion

Sorry, but initially this topic was in the "report a problem" category, i suppose it can't be reorganized to "Idea" and declined in 2 days after creation :)

It was reported as "Problem" because i believe that any map for navigation must have visible scale (regardless of the zoom-level)

Locus allows to select 2 variants - "Traditional map scale indicator" or "Distance rings" (more convenient) . 1st variant works for any zoom-level, but 2nd doesn't work for 20,21,22 levels. Why? Now i have to switch on both variants.

About usage map scale for 20-22 levels. It can be a lot of different situation, for example:

- when GPS off, i would like to know "what distance from my poi to the road?", "what is the width of the river?" and so on

- trip along the old track and would like to control my derivation (+-10m)

- use Locus in the darkness

- navigate to points that were hidden specially or covered with snow/water - i.e. any situation when i can't see them

- ...

If this case is still is not "report a problem", could you please set status to "collecting voices"?

Good day Dmitry,

thanks for explanation.

I have to say that all these possible use cases does not convince me about usefulness of this improvements. On second side I absolutely agree that when such feature exists and when these circles are visible for most of zoom levels, it does not make sense to not to display them also for high zoom levels. And because they won't be most of time visible, it is not a problem to extend current range of circles. So since next version will be added 10, 25 and 50 m distance rings. Thanks for an idea.
