It is used by many humanity organisations, it can address every 3x3 meter square on Earth, maybe add it to locus?
what3words.com
The german geocaching plattform opencaching.de recently added (as first geocaching platform at all) support for what3words as additional coordinate system. There are already some geocaches based on this (mystery, safari).
What about Locus Map to support what3words as additional coordinate system for entering coordinates?
Currently Locus can get what3words coornibates via what3words app via "send coordinates" or "route to" function of what3words android app. what3word app should have enabled sending of a numeric coordinates option in settings.
Option http://help.locusmap.eu/topic/please-add-export-as-geo-uri-option I asked for will make possible to get what3words coordinates for any point from Locus via export option of locus to what3words app.

Hi guys,
Tom Mursell (someone important behing What3Words) already contacted me probably based on notification that such topic was created. I was thinking about it and from my points of view, best should be if they just add into their Android application simple extension from Locus API.
To be true, I'm not convinced that this service will be useful for Locus users. But maybe number of votes convince me? :)

And it's strange that what3words app not includes self into a list of geo: catchers - now I test it, it doesn't.

Yup, interesting. Because when you tap on "external > map apps > Maps", you get list of all applications that are able to work with basic intent
geo:lat,lon?q=lat,lon (name)

I was sure I will see it there until I try.
Can somebody try it too - to open coordinates from Locus with what3words program?

As language is added it should be called what4words, sadly.

Excuse my ignorance, but how can I use what3words? New beta has it but can I see three words instead of e.g. Long. Latt. In title bar? Where is it? Can't find that... :-(

Hello ulmus, balloni55,
nice error btw.
Implementation of what3words is made on three places:
- conversion of coordinates to w3w: menu > more > share > w3w
- conversion of w3w to coordinates: menu > (more > ) search > w3w
- handling of http://w3w/... url is made automatically when you click on such url in web browser
Display of w3w directly in top menu as another coordinate system is not currently planned mainly because coordinates > w3w is online based, no instantly offline. Thanks for understanding.
