Export to Strava - login failure

Solved

Hi,

after the last upgrade of Locus Pro app (version 3.24.0) the export of gpx tracks to Strava app (version 11.0.0) stopped working. Login to Strava always fails with an error:

locus.oauth.callback.strava’s server DNS address could not be found.

DNS_PROBE_FINISHED_NXDOMAIN

http://locus.oauth.callback.strava/?state=&code=6591a7f77af0861f9facc03e6bea31379242091e#

I tried to login with my google account as before, but it doesn't work now.

What's the problem?

Zdravím Honzo,

I've found one issue directly in Locus Map app, so login will be fixed in next version. Thanks

Good day Jan,

sorry to hear about login problems with latest Locus Map version. Because of some changes on Google side we had to change system, how Locus Map login to various services ( to Strava as well ).

In new version, Locus Map open your default web browser in your device where you should login and result of this login should be then returned back to Locus. And this last step seems to cause you a troubles.

What web browser you use, in which browser you login? Also what device and Android version do you use?

Strava app does not make any usage here.

Hi,

the steps you mentioned are right.

When I click on login to Strava in Locus gpx export my default web browser opens (Chrome version 58.0.3029.83 - it should be the latest one). There I click on "Log in using Google". When I confirm the authorization I am forwarded to the error web page (DNS server locus.oauth.callback.strava not found) instead of redirecting to Locus app. I don't know what could be the problem. May be it is on strava side, which should authorize Locus for the access...

I am using Samsung S7 with Android 7.0

Thanks,

Best Regards,

Jan Poduska

Good day,

thank you for additional information. This is definitely not and issue on Strava side, but I also think it is not a problem on Locus Map side. Quick search gave me this answer on Google support forum.

May you please try first two steps they suggest?

  1. Just to double check, please try the following troubleshooting steps to try to resolve the issue:
  2. - Clear your cache and other browser data
  3. - Uninstall and reinstall the Chrome App

Thank you.
