Icon background color

It would be nice if the white background on geocaching icons could be changed to other colors per folder. I normally have all caches for an area in one folder and other "important" to find caches in another folder. The settings for each folder could have an option for changing the background color.

For this to work, it would also be necessary to control which icon to show on top if the same geocache exist in several folders. A simple solution that does not require any UI could be to draw the icon with white background behind/below icons with color.

Would it help if the icon's background is transparent instead of white?

No, I don't think so. I want red background on a few high priority caches and white background on the rest.

Hello Manfred

if you want to use different icons for geocaches, create them and name them

http://docs.locusmap.eu/doku.php?id=manual:advanced:customization:icons#list_of_possible_icons

next

Compress all icons to a .zip file (icons will be stored directly in zip, not in any sub-directory) and place them into Locus/icons directory

last step: modify config.cfg

e.g.

# GEOCACHING
# --------------------------------

# pack of icons used for geoaching points (default: empty)
geocaching_icon_pack=geocaching_icon_pack.zip

and restart locus

Hi Wolfgang,

Thanks for your Answer. My wish is, to fill the arrow with red or other color, which shows me the direction of moving along a track driving along. I read several examples in the forum, how to do this, but i can only find find several names of files, but not the content of them. Do you know a complete example zip file with his content in the web, which i can use to modify? I see several picture files, but no a compete zip file.

Hi Manfred,

your question is OT and i cant split it to a new topic.....

to be consistent, please open a new topic with your question with expressive "topic text" here on help desk or in german forum

http://forum.locusmap.eu/index.php?board=27.0

so for others it will be easy to find a solution if they had an identically question.

Next you´ll get an answer from me and/or others ;-)

Wolfgang
