Increase photo size when hover center cross

For example I have a photo on the map. It is in the form of a small icon.

In order to enlarge I have to do a lot of action. And if it is increased automatically when you move the cross would be wonderful.

I take photos of my fishfinder screen when out kayak fishing - this would be wonderful as all the photos look the same in thumbnail form until you click in the menus alot

So if I understand correctly, something like this?

fine, so done. Just please be aware, that points you already loaded and stored in Locus, won't be affected by this. So you will have to load points from SD card once again.

Hm. How I can add POI like on screenshot above (with photo as icon)?

"Add now point (camera)" adds regular POI with icon from standard library.

Hello Evgeny

It's not a import function but strangely enough you will find this in the "search" function.

strange - isn't it? :)

If only Locus was a bit less "strange" in places :-).

Anyway... the photo icons are super tiny on my device (Galaxy Note 2), impossible to make out any details. On hover, they increase only by 20% or so, still quite invisible. And certainly nothing like in menions screenshot above (3.7.1.2. BETA).

In favor of this weird and cumbersome implementation via the search function, here's how geotagged picture support should work:

Everything is handled automatically and in the background by Locus.. no user interaction whatsoever! Use the media library to keep track of all pictures on the device and just display them. No manuals imports, no searches, no waypoint creations, nothing to bother me. Whenever I take a geotagged picture with the phones camera or download one from somewhere, it needs to show up in Locus immediately and automatically.

A GUI is required to control this:

a) a switch to turn geotagged pictures on and off.

b) a folder/album exclusion list (like e.g. in QuickPic)

Yes... this means programming work... maybe it even requires keeping an internal database of what pictures in the media library were already scanned for geotags, file and directory change dates, checksums and godknowswhat. But in the end, it would be something really useful instead of the current and very backwards manual approach via search.

The same principle applies to most of the other stuff in the SEARCH function as well btw... it simply doesnt belong there. Why do I have to manually search for Wikipedia articles? Why do I have to manually import them? Why do I have to do that again and again whenever I scroll the map? Items like this could simply be an additional "layer" that I can enable/disable on top my map with a single switch. Locus would then automatically handle all related searches in the background and just display the data as soon as it becomes available.

If you're scared of internet load / speed, have a delay of a second after the last scroll/zoom operation before you start pulling the data in the background. When there's another scroll/zoom meanwhile, obviously the pull is aborted in favor of the new position. And of course these data gathering tasks should run at a lower priority than the main user interface and never interfere or slow down anything. But I'll leave the implementation details to you :)...

A lot of good points, thanks for it!

Maybe its possible to include a option like "size of hovered thumbnails" in the points folder for individual folders which covers all the points contained inside that folder.

Kind of like the "style on map" options in the points folders which allow "Label settings" - Global settings/Never/On hover/ask. It could have options like "thumb size on hover" - normal/double/triple" or somthing. Anythings a improvement on how it was though Im about to try it out now cheers Menion :)

Hmm checked Im running the latest locus pro - and reimported my photos so they are showing on the screen again but perhaps Im missing somthing as when i hover over the photo it only gets bigger by a few pixels (still a unuseable photo without clicking the menus to get to the attachment again - not like the thumbnail difference menion shows more like a 2% increase in size) Perhaps another way around this is to have a option for the points folders to "auto open attachment" instead which would auto load the photos fullscreen? - that would be ideal really for imported photos showing directly on the screen - as if you import them that way its obvious you want to view the photo not information on co-ordinates and a big white screen?

Extra settings is not what I want. I'm sure that for such tiny task should be some universal solution. Anyway to test some changes I made, you have to wait for new public Locus Pro version (which will be out probably during next week) or use a testing version from here https://plus.google.com/communities/105669867009952671671

Thanks mate - I can understand not wanting more extra options ahhahahha. I look forwards to the update will make things a bit quicker for me :) Its not a desperate thing Im happy to wait for pro to be updated :)
