Line style: Solid line with direction arrows

I like the different available line styles, but I find that the arrows often look too "in your face" in practice. Especially if you have a round trip, where you take the same paths most of the time, but sometimes not (snowshoeing, for example, you can often take a more direct route down). In effect, arrows facing opposite directions are mixed together most of the time, which doesn't look good.

I'd like to have a solid line with occasional indication of direction. That way, super-position is rarely a problem, and different paths can still be attributed to the correct part of the trip.

Here's a rough example. The color of the arrow could be eithe white or determined by the outline color.

Great job with the new editor - even more option than I could have hoped for. :)

However, there's a some update problem: If I have a visible track with a pattern and then edit the line style and simply deactivate the pattern, the track on the map is not updated correctly: The pattern is still used, but in a different color. After hiding the track and making it visible again, it's ok.

Also, with arrow patterns, the distance between the arrows varies wildly: On rather straight parts, the have a much bigger distance than when there are more turns and corners. I can imagine that's not easy to get right - perhaps you could still consider a style with bigger distance between the arrows, that looks less intrusive. But I'm nitpicking here.

Hmm,

about first problem, please check if we are talking about state, when track is not selected! Because in case, you tap on a track even with disabled pattern, it will be visible to show correct track direction.

About distance: here we talk about problem in case, you have enabled coloring of track by speed or some other value, right? Yep, I have some problems here, no so easy to solve, but agree it looks weird.

Oh, yeah, you're right, my bad - it was the selection arrows. So forget about that.

And the other thing, you're also right, it was a combination of slope coloring and arrows. I assume every section with the same color "starts" a new arrow progression - so the more change in slope the weirder it looks.

But I think that's not important. Arrows over a colored track will probably never look too good and doesn't make much sense.

So I rest my case, great work, thx a lot! :)

This is very precise. I tried to make display of arrows on colored path precise, but it consumed quite a lot of CPU, because available feature are not ready for this. Anyway if you zoom out a little, there is so much arrows, that colored background is not visible at all. I'm playing with it a little bit, and I think I have usable solution where arrows won't be exactly in same distance between, but there will be at least less of them .. so next version, thanks.

3.27.1: Looks considerably better, also in the small track preview (before the arrows covered almost everything). Thx!
