Line to GPS during navigation

stebu shared this problem 11 years ago
Solved

During navigation Locus shows "line to GPS", a few meters and random direction.

This information is totally needless and should be hidden during navigation.

Not a big problem, just some disturbing numbers in the center of the screen.

Stebu,

Can you give me a little more detail about what you are taking about? I use Locus for geocaching.

I select a cache that I want to navigate to. From the cache details page I select the navigation button, then press compass then switch to map. On the map I see the current location with a blue line of small arrows pointing to the cache with a distance (straight line) value to the cache. Is this what you are talking about?

In the city, the arrow line crosses over buildings, roads, etc. Probably not that useful. In the field (woods, etc), I find the line and distance useful.

Thanks,

Richard

High Richard!

No, it`s not geocaching this time. :)

The line you are talking about (I think) is the blue line from the GPS position to the target.

I`m talking about the RED line from screen center to the actual GPS position (another map screen setting).

It`s about actual turn-by-turn navigation (select a destination and then "Navigate to"). You`ll get a thick route and voice guidance. During this, Locus shows distance and bearing from screen center (the car icon) to the actual GPS position. Usually the distance is only a few meters.

If you haven`t enabled "Line to GPS" this will not occur; but I think that a clever app (like Locus) should be able to suppress this unnecessary info.

I can`t get a screen shot, other than shooting with a camera, and that`s difficult while driving.
