Moving locus to another device

I recently bought another android smartphone for navigating purposes and I try to move locus pro from one device to another.I tried to backup with titanium pro and restore to the new device and after I copied Locus folder(with all content) to the new device. After the first start-up all is working, but on the second start-up ..locus said that the main folder is moved and I had to choose again new location and all configuration is lost..

I had a locus backup from the old phone and I restored all setting from that.It all worked till the next start and then again it made me choose again the locus folder..and so on

I think it's some configuration file somewhere that it is pointing to the old location..(old device I had locus folder in external storage and in the new device locus folder it is in internal sdcard.)

Can someone please tell me how to restore all the settings and maps etc. but the setting that is pointing to the old location has to be removed , as it destroy every time my good functioning

Thank you

Thanks Wolfgang..I already did move all content of your Locus folder from external sdcard to the /sdcard/Locus/ directory

After the restore function(for all settings to be back) and I still have the problem with choosing folder again

Marius,

let us try to solve your problem step by step

- on what android version is your new device?

- please take a look after first start, when locus is working, on

>settings > miscellaneous > default directories > set root directory

is there "/sdcard" marked?

if so, how is this setting after second start?

Both devices are android 6.0.1

First start : settings > miscellaneous > default directories > set root directory /sdcard is marked

all others are default

But program is not configured with all my settings, so now I have to do a restore from the old device backup I made. Did restore.. all settins are back

I rebooted the phone and re-started locus ..Now I get the dialog to grant again Permissions to locus(acces to media and to device location) and after this again.. Please select the default Locus map Pro directory and /sdcard/Locus is default present...I choose confirm etc.

and this dialog appears on each new start of locus?

Good day Marius,

I remember some time ago, that also another user had some troubles with restoring Locus settings over Titanium backup.

Simple advice > don't do it.

Method how to move Locus to another device: http://docs.locusmap.eu/doku.php?id=manual:faq:move_to_new_device_sd_card

It's probably late to make a backup over "Backup manager", so you may check if there isn't any automatic backup in Locus/backup/auto. Otherwise, you'll have to setup few settings inside Locus manually again.

Yes, I think it was something related to titanium backup restore..

I uninstalled, installed fresh and I had a backup from old locus, so all is now ok, thank you

Just brought a Sansung tablet and was naively hopeing to login in to Locus Free and see all my folders etc as on my phone. I still want to keep all my millions of files on my phone but can I also get them on my tablet easily!?
