POI: how to select/add a poi on a map by its label?

Is it in any way possible to long press on a label/name of a POI on a map like OpenAndroMap in a city and get the info box with the label as the name of the point (and not the street adress)?

example:

- i see a POI on the opened map with the label: "old bridge"

- when i long press on his point: i'd like to get the info box named "old bridge" and not simply the street address of the "old bridge".

How could i achieve that without having to search for the POI "old bridge" ?

Long tap in Locus always pops up an address. I you want to display a POI info, tap its icon once > a POI label appears > tap the label > detailed info appears.

Thanks! :)

Yes, it - sometimes - works this way, but pretty often it will not work. I pretty often short tap on a POI and the POI label will not appear. Then i try to zoom in/out several times, restart the app, try again, and sometimes it pops up.

I cannot reproduce exactly when it works and when i does not.

What could be the issue and what should i try to do/change to get the pop up with the POI label each time by a short tap?

I can't reproduce the issue you're talking about - POI labels pop up always when tapped. Unless you mix map symbols and active POIs - map symbols often share position with active POIs but they are not clickable -they're graphic part of the map.

Yes, it seem to be right :)

When for exapmle on a Lomap, theme "hike&bike", i switch "food&drink" on 2 symbols appear for each restaurant: when i zoom in i see a small symbol on a on a bigger one, both the same apearance.

Only the small one can be tapped and shows the pop up window with a POI label.

But when the map is too much zoomed out than there is no visual difference between thise two symbols so that the smaller one seems to not react to the tap on my device.

What is it about those 2 symbols? Could you please explain the defference and why are there 2 of them?

That's something we succeeded to solve in coming Locus version - in case your vector map contains POI database then Locus does not render them in map but displays them just as dynamic POIs. For now, this option is supported by LoMaps but we hope that also the creator of OAM maps will adjust his map themes for this.
