Goog Day,

I tried several times to download a map from mapquest

on my smartphone, since i bought the android application, I have been experimenting two mayor problems, the first is in the creation of a navigation path where the calculated way took wrong street way directions and having problems when i'm driving, the second is the downloading of maps for offline service being classic o hybrid on hd definition (zoom 19 or 20 and about 660,000 teselas) the problem comes when i get about 160 thousand teselas the downloading process stops and it says: 'check the internet connection' or 'check the

capacitiy of SD-card'. I have a 32gb SD storage memory. These two problem continue, i've tried for at least five time and i had the same result in both problems.

thank you.

Good day Marco,

for navigation are used 3rd party web sites (or Brouter/GraphHopper for offline) which has it's own algorithm for compute an route. If you are using for example default "MapQuest" source, you may check this web site: http://open.mapquest.com/ . Directions computed here should be same as in Locus, so unfortunately if problem will be same on mentioned website, there is nothing I may do here :(.

About downloading maps - in new 3.10.3 version will be information message extended a little bit. So please try it once more and check precisely what Locus display as an error. I hope it will help to find out a real problem.

Thank you!

Good day Marco,

I've merged your new post to this older topic, no need to create a new issue, hope you understand.

Thanks for extra information. As you wrote, you see "Error code 1" message. I'm checking a code and this problem happen on only one place ... in moment, Locus tries to store tile to map database.

I see two options:

1. In case this problem happen, Locus should throw long error message into system log. This log may be acquired by this method: http://docs.locusmap.eu/doku.php?id=manual:faq:how_to_create_debug_log . So when problem happen, immediately take a log. There may be more precise information

2. a lot better is to download small maps (around 50.000 - 100.000 tiles), place them into one subdirectory like Locus/maps/myMaps and all will work as single map

3. you may use external tool like MOBAC to download tiles on PC. Usually faster method how to get huge amount of tiles.

4. - best solution - check Locus Store and download LoMaps for required area. They are small, easier to use, contains offline POI database and do not suck free servers like you do with your huge amount of tiles.

Good day Marco,

hope that some of suggested solutions works for you fine. I really suggest mainly point 4. LoMaps, anyway even with MOBAC, most of users has very positive experience.

I'm closing this ticket as "unsolvable" as these problems are really almost impossible to solve in cases of such huge downloading.
