Trying to load tiles it says "As of 11 July, 2016, direct tile access has been discontinued". Will this be worked around and/or fixed? I had planned on using Locus today on a walk. I will now have to rely on old technology (maps).

MapQuest changed their terms of use yesterday. We work on it but it seems that MapQuest map will be removed from Locus Map application.
Please use other maps, for example OSM Regional - Hike and Bike. Or the best solution is to download LoMaps from Locus Store

Many thanks for the quick repky. I have switched to the OSM Regional - Hike and Bike. All is now good. I will investigate LoMaps too.

Why not use vector maps ? LoMaps, OpenAndroMaps, ... and pick the theme you like most.

I'm sorry for troubles but we were also very surprised by changes on MapQuest site. Based on that we had to remove mapquest maps from Locus Map app. We believe that there are other maps that can substitute the mapquest. You can you download mentioned LoMaps or any other Online map. We also quickly add new map source OSM - Outdoor.

Actually I always thought that the online cache was great, but I don't mind trying vector.
