Running Locus Pro on a PC with ARC Welder
Answered
Google has now made ARC Welder available to run Android Apps on a PC under the Chrome Browser.
Could you let us know how people can use this to run Locus Pro on their PCs?
Thank you very much
I tried running ARC Welder on Windows XP yesterday with Chrome 41. When I load an APK, even a simple APK, it just displays a waiting icon forever. I couldn't find any information on the minimum required hardware or software i.e. is Windows XP supported? ARC Welder installed OK. I'd be interested to hear whether anyone else gets it working. It would be handy to be able to run Locus on a PC. I've tried other Android emulators, but XP is too old to run them. I've also tried them on a Windows 8.1 netbook but the emulators generally require more than 2GB RAM.

I also read this yesterday, but I'm also not sure how nicely will be this emu written.
From my own experience I may really suggest Genymotion as a best emu I ever used! Fast, easy to use, precise, no serious problems.

Just tried Locus 3.5.3 in ARC Welder. Starts nicely, then wants to download those 5 MB, and ends up in error 1811. As my Chrome ARC is virgin, there is no Lucky Patcher around. So, what to do, pls ?
Would be nice to have those 5 MB "at hand" explicitly to put them into the right place manually, so Locus is happy ...
What exactly are those, and where do they sit ?
TXs

We have really good experience with Genymotion and VirtualBox.
No idea how many errors will occur with ARC Welder.
I see no reason to work with chrome beta stuff.
Waste of time...
...for now.

Well, IF it worked, it would be lighter "weight" than VB or alike.
Anyone has an idea how to connect to local PC file system in ARC ?
Research in Web did not give hints.
Locus Free does work in general, BTW, with online maps.

Agree with Michael - ARC suggests it needs far less PC resources than VB/ GM. Maybe one day...

No, Play Store is not included. I need to dg a bit to better understand the architecture if ARC under the hood ...
