Side panel button to switch last used map

I often need to compare two maps and then swap them frequently, It would be very useful to have a button to swap the last map displayed, this is different from the actual map selector.

This situation is very common - for example switching between vector/satellite map, or online/offline map. It would be useful to have a button for quick switching between 2 last maps (or we can have settings - "number of maps for switching").
Current functionality for map selection works well, but it more suitable for planning trip and usually a bit redundant for real, active navigation. In addition, it's a bit hard to select map for right-handers.
Is it possible to reanimate this topic to "Collecting votes" status?

it is possible to enable "Quick map switch" directly on map screen in left panel ( menu >settings > maps > Panels & buttons > Left actions panel ). Yes, it may be more complicated for right-hand people, but in moment you need to switch maps so often, I believe two hands are available.
