Waypoints export and import between 2 devices with KML

Fifi shared this problem 11 years ago
Solved

Parameters :

2 devices : the 1st device has a categorie of waypoints with a huge number of waypoints (a grid of 5600 waypoints !) .

These waypoints were imported into this categorie, with the past version of Locus, from a kml with nothing else inside than "name" and "coordinates". No "descriptions" no "styleUrl".

The 2nd device hasn`t this categorie and this waypoints, and i want this waypoints on it.

1st solution :

In the 1st device, i export the categorie to kml.

In the 2nd device, i create the categorie and import this kml.

I tick the categorie to show it on the map

=> Locus crash

2nd solution :

I download the kml generated by Locus with my computer`s Google Earth.

I save this kml with Google Earth.

In the 2nd device, i create the categorie and import the kml generated with GE.

I tick the categorie to show it on te map.

=> It works ! With a diffrent icon and slow, because of the description generated by GE i suppose, but it works.

3rd solution :

In the 2nd device, i create the categorie and import my original kml.

I tick the categorie to show it on the map.

=> It works ! And it`s fast.

Conclusion : there`s a difference between the GE-KML and the Locus-KML. This little difference could be the origin of the crash ... ?

Hi Menion,

So,

1. Test with Locus KML : OK

2. Test with GE KML : OK

3. Test with Original KML : OK

It seems that everything is working properly !

Thank you !
