Search shall not clear entered search term and MRU when switching search type

After searching in one "search type" like search in points and not finding what I searched for, I usually switch to another "search type" like search in tracks, online addresses and places or offline places. During the switch, the entered search term is cleared and also not offered in MRU / history of "the other search". That makes search much more time consuming (e.g. long names or accents/characters not available on my keyboard lilke thorn Þ of Icelandic names).

Please do not clear search term while switching.

Please make history/MRU of search terms work across searches AND also accessible without entering first charcter (e.g. for "Þingvellir" that is difficult)
