Online and settings search: Sequence of typed characters mixed up

In the online and settings search, I experience quite often that the sequence of typed characters is mixed up. In other searches of Locus and in other applications, it either does not happen or does not happen sufficiently often to catch my attention – hence I assume there is something different/special in these 2 affected searches. I assumed it may have to do with online search's network latency, but because settings are also affected, it must be something else.
