Make labels dodge each other so they do not overlap

When Labels of points and tracks are set to always display, they overlap each other, making them rather unusable unless very zoomed in. I would think it would be more useful if the labels would be able to dodge each other, so they would not overlap. If there were too many of them in one place, I an imagine ther would be a very thin line connecting them to the point/track in question. It might not be the prettiest, but overlapping labels as it is is ugly too and not bery usable. See screenshot.

I understand that the algorithm to place them might be a bit tricky especially if care not to overlap the waypoints itself was taken too.
