Hello,
When using the route planner, if the necessary routing data is absent, then a warning message is given.
However, when navigating , if recalculate is executed, or else auto-recalculation is enabled and you go off course, then if the routing data for the location is not present then recalculate does not work - obviously it cannot - however there is no warning/error message to indicate this nor the reason.
This can happen in particular if a route has been imported then navigated without amending with the route planner, which would have prompted to download the routing data.
It can then be very confusing as to why it is not working.
IMO it should flash a warning up for some seconds, and if announcements are active with text-to speech then speak a message like "The route could not be recalculated because routing data is missing" (or similar) instead of the usual "Route has been recalculated" when it works.
Similarly if recalculate fails for any other reason it should indicate and/or speak that, if possible with the reason why, not just do nothing.
If it is auto-recalculate then any spoken warning perhaps should be limited in repetitions.
I've made this a problem not an idea because I think its omission is a fault, so it would not be an enhancement.
This applies to both LM 4 and LM Classic.
I like this idea
More than an advice, a choice to download "all" (map, elevation and routing) in once .
This can be really great. I don't understand the raison to download only partial data (map is clearly the biggest, elevation and routing data are small)

I thought that when downloading a map, the routing and elevation data would also be downloaded.
But I haven't tested it in a long time. I have elevation data for all of Europe from Sonny (1 inch) on my phone. And all the routing data too. So I haven't needed it for years.

A note can't hurt. Routing data could also be sent automatically.
But altitude data should not be downloaded automatically. Otherwise, the better data from Sonny will be overwritten every time.

Hello Locus map team,
I think this could be linked to this post : https://help.locusmap.eu/topic/38855-advice-to-download-elevation-data-and-routing-data-when-downloading-offline-lomaps
In the field without network, no download possible.

Hello
The problem I raised recently has been merged with this idea. This is incorrect.
The problem I raised was about there being no warning if recalculate failed. That is completely different to the subject of this idea.
Please would you demerge them and re-instate the case that I raised
Thanks
Alan
