Hello,

i´ve been using the free version of locus map (3.18.2) on an Asus Fonepad 7 with Android 4.3 for about over one year without any problems. Since the last actualization a few days ago, the app doesn´t start anymore. "Locus Map" wurde beendet.

Can you please help me?

Good day,

I'm sorry to say it, but for now, I have no simple solution on this problem. Issue is definitely in Android system itself, more precisely in smaller library called houdini. I found only single same report about this problem on page of Skype application, where it's developers fixed it by some hack, but there is no information, how.

For now, please download and use previous version of Locus Map 3.17.2.

download here Locus Map Free or Locus Map Pro in version 3.17.2.

I'm very sorry for a complications.

short? well:

- rename your "Locus" folder

- deinstall Locus

- reboot

- install Locus from store

- copy important(!) files back from old to new "Locus" folder

Hello Andreas,

wait wait ... gynta's solution may help but is too drastical and may not solve problem that is there! (thanks gynta btw. ).

If you have a while, may you please try to create a log by this method: http://docs.locusmap.eu/doku.php?id=manual:faq:how_to_create_debug_log . Or if Android offer you to send bug report after crash, do it now again please (crash of Locus) and add some information to description of bug report, so I know it was you (like your name).

Thank you and sorry for a complications.

Hello guys,

thank you for a logs and sorry for a complications.

I'm worried this will be an real problem. From logs I have found that issue is with native library included in Android that helps to use some other libraries. Problem is that non of our team is skilled c++ developer so it's impossible for us to do some hack to solve this issue. What I did was updating of some tools that create Locus application file. It is now published on Google Play as Beta version of Locus Map Free 3.18.2.2. May anyone of You try this Beta version if there will be any change? Thank you.

Hi, Mats G here

Could only find 3.18.2. 1 on Google Play, which still crashes.

I can zoom and move the map but any other button press will make it crash.

Running on a Galaxy S5, Android 5.0.

Good day guys,

it's not best solution of course, but at least you have a working version of Locus for now. Gudrun, I cannot help here. But if anyway from time to time try new version of Locus and post information about it here, it will be very welcome (as all other get notification about this change).

Thank you for understanding!

Just to let you know that 3.18.6 Pro is working fine on my Asus Memopad ME173X.

That is with Android 4.2.2 Kernel Version 3.4.5.

Nonetheless I will keep a copy of the older version just in case!

Hello Menion !

I don't want to open a new topic, even if I'm not sure it's the same issue. Just tell me if needed.

My issue is with the Pro version.

Since july, Locus doesn't work (at all). But there is no crash. The app starts, but nothing is loading (maps, tracks, point...)

And where a map is supposed to appear, it stays grey.

I can go to the map section, I still see the maps (online or vectors), but when I choose one... it says in french "Processus infructueux" what means "unsuccessfull process".

I tried to restaure an old backup file (only parameters). After the restaure, Locus needs to be restarted.

With the 30/6 backup, it works. But as soon as I restart Locus again, it doesn't work anymore.

With the 3/7, it doesn't work at all.

I will try to install the 3.17.2 version. Hopefully, it will fix the problem.

But just in case, I wanted to let you know.

All the best,

Romain.

Good day Romain,

definitely different problem as problem here cause 100% crash, nothing more. You have also Asus FonePad device? Usually it's better to create a new topic, which I may later merge to existing, then write to existing, because I cannot split them.

Is it possible for you to send me your backup from 3. 7 on jiri.mlavec@asamm.com? I should try it on own device. Also please be sure, there were no change in place where Locus store it's data. It have to be on a place, where Locus may read/write.

Ok. I created a new topic. I use a Samsung S4. And I'm downloading the back file. I'll give you the link as soon as it's done.
