When display turned on briefly show any auto hidden side panels

In my quest to maximize display space for the map and remove as much other clutter as possible I have put less used buttons on right side, and made the panel auto hide. A further enhancement to this useful feature would be to briefly show any auto hidden side panels when the display is turned on. This would be most useful with auto display on for navigation points. Often a double tap of the screen will become unnecessary. See video here of current operation with 3s delay.
