WMS service, option of arbitrary layers order?

Hello all,

Some wms services provide layers where base map is first on the list and aditional layers go further down the list but some wms serices have base maps on bottom of the list and aditional layers such as hiking paths or ski pistes are on start of the list.

One example is swiss topo wms where base map is at the bottom and it's impossible to show ski piste layer cause is further up on the list. What would be helpful is to show layers based on order of turning on maybe.
