i am writing about this issue -
http://help.locusmap.eu/topic/locus-hangs-on-adding-waypoint-after-push-save
the problem is that sometimes on waypoint add locus hangs with my working
configuration
(which usually includes coordinates reporting
to server to and buddies tracking and i think this is connected to bad gsm coverage areas because i have never seen this on my table).
this weekend locus did it again, and i was able to collect logcat and
screenshots this time, and i do not want logcat to be public
this time it did hang when i was adding waypoint with photo (so log has lot
of camera messages) , and it did hang on attached screenshot.
looking to logcat myself i saw this - this is my coordintates reporting.
maybe locus hangs due to this...

if coordinates reporting is blocking WP add ui somehow, maybe smaller timeout (like
10000ms -> 100ms) will resolve issue?

alex
Hi,
how many visible points do you have when this happens? Is the waypoint individual or a part of a route? What feature do you use when adding (way)points?

Hi,
this lagging is quite normal with the settings and active features you have - 1400 active points, live tracking on, map overlay on... probably you haven't system powerful enough for fast handling of these tasks. More info at http://docs.locusmap.eu/doku.php?id=manual:faq:locus_performance.

oh, the question is why adding waypoint on my table right now takes no time at all. and in the wood with bad coverage it did take for edges... maybe one of the processes involved into waypoint adding waits for internet response? the phone is galaxy s7, i think it has enough power, and i did not see such behavior 1-2 months ago with same or bigger number of waypoints enabled, so that makes me believe this is something from latest updates...

Adding points doesn't require internet connection but both Wikimapia and live tracking do. Nevertheless, I tested the settings you have on Xiaomi Mi3 which has weaker specs than your phone and no lagging occurred. Hard to solve a problem that can't be simulated.

i see... i am also not understand how to emulate bad coverage situation if it matters. do you think i can collect some logs if that will happen again? or when program hangs, it might be late to collect them? maybe some locus internal logging can be enabled in advance?
oh. one more thing, i do not have heights data for this areas, so sometimes i see message about it and ignoring it. maybe this could cause hangout? like it is trying to get corrected WP height from internet?

Hi,
I forwarded your message to the main developer who'll analyze your log report.
cheers

Good day Alex,
same problem I had during my vacation last days. In some cases, when there was bad internet connection, Locus was stuck and only disabling data/internet helped ( enabling immediately back was ok ). I'll look at this problem and let you know once fixed/improved.
Thanks Michal, I'll take care about this task now.

Good day Alex,
I believe that this is one of biggest problems I found in Locus Map in maybe even last year. Problem was caused by change in Android system few years ago that I've unfortunately missed! Problem anyway found and fixed and in next version all should work as expected even on slow and unstable internet connection.
