Distance from the start of a track

Ricyro shared this idea 2 years ago

When I click on a track I would like to see the distance from the start. At the moment I get the total distance. I also get the elevation profile of the whole route with a marker where I clicked, however the distance is too small to see with much accuracy.

So eg if I am looking for a cafe stop along a cycle route I want to be quickly able to see how far along the route the cafe is.

Thanks

Rich

Hello Rich,

in the Locus Map 4, just tap on the first bottom icon to display details of currently selected trackpoint. In this second screen, you may see a distance to start/end of the track together with elevation value. Hope this helps.

Alistar, this is quite a new feature :).

But one new and very useful info is in this trackpoint screen. Distance at the top of the screen is real distance along the track from your current position to selected trackpoint = very useful during the trip ;)

Marvelous, I had assumed I hadnt seen it before as iv been using different locus features a lot mroe over the last year.

clicking through the trackpoints is great, but would be good if the blue crosshairs showing on the small elevation profile on track view would go through to detailed elevation profile, made a post the otehr day, you might want to coose a trackpoint thats the highest etc as viewed from elevation, and make a poi.

Detailed chart needs to be updated a lot, anyway for now, I've at least added quick highlight of the selected trackpoint here as well.

So in the next version ...

The distance and elevation change "To start" is actually the distance and elevation change from the start. In the screenshots below, I interpret "To start" to mean I would have to climb 80 ft to return to the start of the track. But if I go to the next screen for more detail, I see that I 80 ft is what I have climbed so far, and I would have to climb 472 ft to return to the start. This example would be obvious while riding, but it has confused me during planning.

The Statistics would be more useful and obvious to me if they read:

From start: distance, elevation gained, elevation lost

To end: distance, elevation to gain, elevation to lose

Thanks!

Alex

Thanks Alex, you are right. I've at least updated text to "From start".
