What is the difference between gold sync feature and auto backup? Do I still need auto backup or are already all data saved with new sync option?

The normal backup only points and tracks are secured.

What about the new SYNC. There are pictures, video and memos I store in points.

Since then, I had to secure this extra. Is that pleased with the Gold Sync now?

Own pictures in Geocache?

In general, there is no overview what is backed up with backup. That should definitely go to the user manual. User rely on everything is secured and then all pictures are lost in points at once.

You are not included in the backup.

Hi Ivo,

- synchronization keeps your Locus data (tracks, routes, points, NOT attached media yet) the same in your phone, in the cloud and in any other device you use with the same Locus Store account. When you add a track to any of the devices, the sync adds it to the others. When you delete a geocache in one of the devices, the sync deletes it in all others.

- automatic backup saves your tracks routes, points (NOT attached media) and app settings in a ZIP file. When you restore the ZIP, it overwrites all tracks, routes, points and app settings.

Tobse is right. The information so that attached media are not saved should be in the user manual. The advice when setting up the backup in the app would be better.

Many trust the backup and lose data.

Having cloud media attachments for POI/waypints would be good, viewranger has that

even if using a 3rd party like google photos.

The distinct information that attached media are not backed up has been added to the manual. Syncing media to the cloud is planned and will be implemented in the future.

Michal, that is great news about syncing media, would be awesome to see photo POI on the web interface

saves using google photos for travel related things....
