Live tracking and battery

Hi

I intend to record an activity (around 7 hours) and also use live tracking at the same time.

Does live tracking use (significantly) more battery power when in use and if so are there any settings that can reduce this (eg refresh location time).

Thanks

Rich

Hello Rich,

There will definitely be higher consumption. Especially because of the internet connection.

Optimal to try it and measure it.

But the average phone should give a total of 7 hours of activity.

Reducing the frequency of sending data could help a bit.

Have a nice day

Just for anyone interested live tracking did not use much battery. Was about what I expected without it.

I had live tracking, route recording and route navigation by voice command on. Display off. After about 6 hours had used 52 percent of battery on Nokia 8.1.

Alistair, thanks for suggestion re battery pack. I didn't need it for my trip but for longer ones then something to think about.

I generally find that with track recording my battery drops 3%/hr and with track recording+route navigation the drop is 6%/hr. Both with display off as much as possible.

Battery on the bike: I am currently using a round power bar and a rubber to secure telephones. There are other solutions as well. See link ... 1 post before.
