Image Map Calibration with just two points

Image map calibration is a great feature, but it's fussy. Could we not allow it to happen with just two points, not four?

Just recently I had only two points to work with: parking and summit. They were diagonally opposed, and the image was a screenshot, north-up just like the map. Two points should be enough, no? The underlying map was bare, so was the image, so seriously there was nothing else I could use.

I tried using those two points twice; that worked badly. :) I finally made it work by imagining the two other corners of an invisible box with 90 degree corners. Like I said, fussy.

So the idea... Allow just 2 points, and maybe include a north-up checkbox, which might simplify the calibration. Thanks.

But two points should be enough. Sometimes you don't have a third. Two points make a line, and two lines can be arranged to line up with each other.

Hi, two points does not bring any space for checks and validation. With three points, app is able to compute result and also compute possible error estimate on every point. Also system I created use so-called Helmert transformation and this mechanism require three points.

Your use-case make sense, but I believe it is really really rare. So sorry, I have to decline this idea. Thanks for understanding.
