Sync not working

Michal Bryxí (Míša) shared this problem 2 years ago

Hello, just upgraded to Locus.v4, bought the gold subscription and mostly it works fine, but seems like the sync functionality is borked.

- One part of the app is saying "no subscriptions yet", which is kidna confusing.

- When I try to sync the routes / POIs I will get "Whoops! Can't go on syncing. Check your wifi connection. [gibberish] code: 14109"

- I can login onto the web app

Any help is appreciated.

Similar (but probably not the same) topic: is here.

Hello Michael,

thanks for your support with the Gold subscription!

1. not visible subscription in the Locus Store > sorry for this. It is a minor unfinished task. What you see in Locus Store is currently only content purchased directly in the Locus Store. Subscription is handled separately and the best indicator is in the main menu > My subscription (or "Gold" badge at the bottom).

2 error 14109 exactly means: "You selected sync only over wi-fi, but the app can't detect active wi-fi connection". Is it possible that wi-fi is not enabled on your device?

No response for more than a month, so I'm closing this task.

Hi,

I have similar problem. Tried on multiple wifi connections (work, home, restaurant) with at least 2 different ISPs.

I have set it to wifi sync only, but tried to switch that setting off and same error.

What I have noticed it fails reporting step "deleting tracks"

Hi Menion,

I have similar issue just different error code.

Tried on 3 different wifi networks (work, home, restaurant) with at least 2 different ISPs.

Tried to disable wifi only sync, but it didn't change anything.

Hello skvedo,

sorry to read about this weird issue. Seems to be some problem on our side. I'll discuss this with my colleagu at start of next week and let you know as soon as possible. Sorry for complications and thanks for understanding.

Maybe if there is option to reset state of cloud library, that could help in my case. The state of library on my phone is the one I want to keep.

Also you mentioned the wifi detection earlier. That could have part in this. Just yesterday noticed strange behaviour of GDrive that don't want to download file for offline availability and waiting for wifi even when connected to one.

My phone is Samsung A41 with latest available system update.

Sorry for the delay with my answer.

We found no reason for this behavior so I'll need some help from You to solve this issue (if you are interested).

Necessary steps:

- install the new Beta version of Locus Map 4 over the existing app version, download link: http://bit.ly/lmVersionsTest

- after the start, long click on the bottom main menu button and enable "Log to file"

- then start manual sync as usual.

After it fails again, close the app and send me please create log file from the Locus/logs directory. Thank you!

Tried it. Log is attached.

Amazing, thanks!

It seems that app tries to send to our server some really huge data. Isn't possible you have a few (more) huge tracks or many points with very looong description? Best should be to have your database to simulate this issue, but I do not know if you should be willing to share it with me. Anyway I believe I see that problem so I'll try to fix it to next Beta version and let you know here.

Since last sync I have imported one big track from this file https://www.dropbox.com/s/l3i6hbh2jgvrwvv/Divide_20210716.gpx?dl=0 (whole Hungarian divide 1400< km).

Deleted it as it wasn't final version anyway but error on sync is still there.

I will make db backup later today and send you link privately to email.

I have shared you my today backup. Sent you link to locus.map@asamm.com replying to new comment notification from this thread.

Few of recent recordings have bigger descriptions than usual about size as on this activity: https://www.strava.com/activities/5870155301

Still need to write 3 more and upload activities from second half of HD.

Hello Michal,

I've just generated and published a new version where the problem with sync, based on your database, should be fixed. Give it a try please and let me know, thanks!

Version to download: http://bit.ly/lmVersionsTest

Tried and same result.

At first run it went throw additional step of waypoints and reached 4 % progress before stalled on "tracks - deleting data" step.

On later runs (changing WiFi only checkbox) it went only to tracks deleting and stalled at 2 % progress ending

with same error 413 as before.

Attaching log.

If it will help, we can schedule the call to hunt root cause on my device. I can install debugging stuff on my computer if nessesary.

Will also try install Locus4 on my spare phone and try sync from there if it is particular phone related.

Ah damn, thanks for the log, I see it. This is stupid problem to be true. We are little bit limited by Google servers we use (by maximal upload size) and my "fix" in previous version was not 100% accurate. Few of your tracks are so huge... :).

I made another adjustment in the new version (same link: http://bit.ly/lmVersionsTest), may you please try it? Thank you for your patience!

Bingo.

I was able to sync my routes from phone and after editing description of one in planner sync changes back to phone (export to Strava from web planner?, that is for different thread).

Yes I have few multiday routes there :)

Didn't expect it will end up in forum. Let me know when you have it downloaded to change sharing settings.

I've just removed your link. Thank you very much. I'll look at it during next days, but I'm quite sure it is a solvable problem!
