Data/geocaching on ext SD consistent for LMP and LM4

Hello menion

is there a way to define one folder on the ext SD for LM4 and LMP/AFA?

Or at least to keep the folders automatically syncron?

Theoretically AFA (LM4 has it automatically, for LMP there is this special version you mention) would allow selecting the ext.SD, as well as the internal SD (beyond the "private" folders).

But in fact Locus does not offer that. I remember from the hot testing and discussions in Dec. that ext.SD has some technical limitations that would hurt Locus - regardless of AFA rights. But for details we need to wait for Menion :-)

On the other hand: why would someone want to do that? You can offload anything big to ext.SD (maps, mapsVector, SRTM, backup). Which only leaves the database and some other minor stuff on int.SD.

Or do I miss a point here?

Hi,

as Michael wrote. Both versions with AFA enabled and good old "Locus" directory in the root of internal memory. No other solution exists. But my main question is "Why do you still use both versions?" :)

Hello Michael and Menion

as a longtime Locus user I am most of the time since the release with the beta version of LM4 on the road and there it happens from time to time that during the geocaching tour a problem occurs.

In this case I can then continue caching with LMP without problems.

For this reason, it is important for me for both Locus versions to have the same / identical geocaching data offline available

I continue to have both installed, too. With same base folder on int.SD. Why would I move the base folder to ext.SD, if all big data can go there?? So capacity should not be an issue.

As mentioned before, really only solution (and no other is planned) how to use shared directory of the geocaching (or app) directory for both app versions, is to use both versions with enabled AFA (all files access) mode and share same directory in the root of internal memory, like in the good old days.
