Ulmus, I understand that you're angry, but is it really needed to post three posts on Google+, one email on our support and also here?

I'm working on this issue for almost two hours and currently I'm waiting on logs from one user with same problem, that should say me why this happen.

You're not alone with this issue, you don't have to worry about your data because they are on 100% still stored on card and you may be sure that I'll do my best, to publish fixed version as soon as possible.

Hello, same problem here.

Locus Pro will only install to the internal_sd card. It will not recognize the external_sd card EVEN when the newly created folder is moved to the external_sd location.

Yes, all of the information still exists on the external_sd.

Any chance of getting a link to the previous version until you can solve the problem??

An automatic back up was completed yesterday but I am not sure how to install that information.

Thanks

LG Optimus 9;Android 4.1.2

Oki guys,

firstly, sorry for a troubles.

Versions for download (3.0.2): Locus Free and Locus Pro

If you find a little time, I should fix this problem even faster, but I'll need help from someone of you, because on all my devices, this problem don't exists.

I already send one test version to one guy, but don't know when he create a log for me. Without it, I'm currently enable to find reason, why this happen.

So if you use Locus Pro, just

1. install this version https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/8015949/_temp/LocusPro_292_3.1.0.1.apk over! your current instalation

2. start it and after first init, just close it

3. create log by this method http://docs.locusmap.eu/doku.php?id=manual:faq:how_to_create_debug_log and send it on locus@asamm.com

Thanks!

@ulmus

Thank you for help, unfortunately on Android 4.1.2 is not possible to use nor Catlog nor Bug report in Developer Options section. If you're willing to help us please see General solution for all Android version. Download Android Monitor and crate log using this SW.

Thank you

I have Locus Pro installed on a Galaxy S2 with Android 2.3.4 and on a Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 with Android 4.3. No Problems with the last one, but on my smartphone with Android 2.3.4 the external sd card could not be found (I had to choose the entry '/sdcard' on first start of new Locus version with the known effect of missing all data of the sd card - maps, tracks, pois).

I will try to help you to fix this problem, but I have just no time until the weekend. :) And I'm no software developer for smartphones, I don't know if I can get the log file... ;-)

Menion, thanks for the link to the older version. Google Play should seriously allow downgrades, as the new version's /sdcard issue really made it impossible to use Locus at all.

I have Garmin Monterra, data are on the external card /ext_sdcard and Locus only finds the internal memory at /sdcard (which is absolutely unusable for Locus data, as it is too small and only accessible over MTP)

I have tried to produce and send logs, so hopefully you will find something. I sent it twice. at first, after installing that debug version, there was no initial initialization because previous configs were not deleted. Second time it is with initialization phase as well.

Hi, since i cannot do normal report on my 4.1.2 android, i had to download 3.0.2 version of Locus from post above because i am using it now on my hike (it was the cause i was so angry, sorry). To inform you only: after start, the Locus raised the same dialog wanting me to set the root folder (it was saying that folders were changed and i have to choose the proper one) and gave me option to set external or internal, (not android/data/ like did in 3.1.0) So.... this function was working earlier though settings has no such possiblity in 3.0.2.

regards!

p.s. can i delete whole Locus folder from internal sd card if i am using 3.0.2?

I can confirm what ulmus said. Same here, in Garmin Monterra, Android 4.0.4. New version offers only /sdcard (internal memory) or some android/data/ stuff, old version offers /sdcard and /ext_sdcard.

I understand. But! What worked for you, don't work for some other users. Which had exactly same problem with previous version as you have with current.

Josef, thank you for a log! Unfortunately I incorrectly generated previous test version and in logs is ... nothing. May I ask you please for one more try? Now I already tested version and it's on 100% correct. Thank you

The new version does nto go throught the download part, it says unknown error when it tries to download the data. So the initialization was not complete and i am not sure if you will find the right data there.. But I sent the log anyway

Thank Josef, perfect.

App cannot go over download - that's why I wrote, that is required install this beta version OVER existing and working Locus Pro instalation. Anyway because testing SD card is first what Locus do, it's not a big problem. In log is everything important.

In you case it will be probably little bit different issue then in case of other people, but it should be solved now.

If you find a while, please give Locus last try with this version. There is also enabled debugging, so if there still be any problem, log is welcome.

Anyway, is here anyone with card on external_sd! (and probably Android 4.4) who has problems with 3.1.0 and is able to test Locus Pro version from link above and create for me a log? Without this test, I'm unable to publish new version!

Perfect, it works now :)

I hope it is stable enough, tomorrow I am going to Mala Fatra for the weekend and I dont want to re-install whole Locus somewhere in Slovakian mountains. :D

If there are any more issues I will send logs.

Good news, perfect.

It should be stable. But when I get at least two more confirmations that issue is fixed, I'll release new 3.1.1 version on Google Play, so hope it will be today.

Hello Menion,

I installed the new 3.1.0.3 beta version and from my point of view it works! :-)

My root directory is /mnt/sdcard/external_sd/Locus

(Samsung Galaxy W, Android 2.3.6)

Thanks!

Perfect!!

So searching for root is fixed, problems with loading of libraries also, not working c:geo and GSAK add-on also, few more other issues as well ... well, if there are no more serious problem, I'm going slowly prepare new 3.1.1 version. Thank guys for a help and once more sorry for a troubles!

confirmed, it is working, but says that it is test version till.... someday:)

hope to get pro stable soon.

can i delete 'Locus' folder from sdcard if i am using external?

photo

yes yes, this version was generated as some testing version, because I needed to see an logs (which are disabled in public version).

And yes, you can. Just be careful with deleting correct directory, because I've by accident delete good directory during testing (also with backup). Interesting experience :)

EDIT: and thank you ulmus too! Version will be on store after few hours

Great! So, i can use 3.1.0.3_beta untill we'll have a pro-stable-update on adnroid market? or i have to back install 3.0.2?

photo

nono feel free to use it. It is only limited with access to Locus Store, so if this is not a problem, keep it.

photo

Guys, both questions/problems are to separate thread, so next time please create a new topic.

Anyway for now:

@xman_22: check new 3.1.1 after will be available, anyway result will be probably same. You really see just error 43? Isn't it 1243?

version 3.1.1 won't open, before I did the update this error wasn't present. I always get an error message during start up sysing: "Sorry, Locus Pro (Prozess menion.android.locus.pro) was unexpectadly closed. Please try again". After restarting the same message appears.

I'm using Android version 2.2.2

sorry for this. Your problem will be same as here - http://help.locusmap.eu/responses/locus-pro-311-crashes-on-samsung-gt-i9000 . It's issue only on certain 2.2 devices.

I'm still collecting and fixing problems in current version. During next week will be update. Meanwhile, you may install previous version from this post http://help.locusmap.eu/responses/310-root-folder-i-cannot-set-to-my-external-sd-card#comment-11019

I now have a completly non functioning Locus Pro.

hoping that the prior stable version could be installed an wait until the dust settles I downloaded as suggested ablove.

download successful, but will not install..Error is installed failed.

Now what ..1. delete the complete Locus file and start over. (having saved my personal maps)??? 2.. Just hold tight for a few days with a non functioniong app?

To install older version over new version is firstly need to remove this new version. Just un-install. Locus keep all major data in it's directory on card and this directory will remain preserved even if you remove app.

Or just wait till probably Wednesday, when will be released fixed version.

Sorry for a troubles!
