UI of "Map themes" as a list

Menion shared this idea 2 years ago
Completed

Currently, a picker for map themes is created as a two-column grid.

The idea to consider is to create it as a single-column list.

Two column grid system

  • current system
  • easier to click - bigger buttons & icon
  • not visible "menu" button
  • wrapped texts

Single column list

  • better readable names (no wrap)
  • smaller icon
  • visible menu button
  • possibility to add some "flags", so improve visible info

UI of "Map themes" screen

  • Two column grid system
    3
    23%
  • Single column list
    10
    77%

If you long click on any theme in the grid, you get additional options.

Also, currently it is not possible to display selected "sub-theme" in case, theme support this feature.

So option is, instead of current two-column grid, change layout to basic list as is in almost all screens, settings, Map content panel etc.

I think that's great. Then I can already select within the theme the sub-topics, mountain bike, hiking, cycling in the window in front of it. With a column, however, the topic of sorting would be important. Favorite themes should be at the top

Hi guys, thanks for the votes.

So, in the next app version, the layout will be updated from the old grid mode to the new list mode as visible on the screens below (old > new).

Clicking on the theme always opens the theme. But mostly I don't want to open the theme but select and activate it.

Suggestion:

click on the text (1) and the theme will be opened.

click on the icon (2) and the theme will only be activated.

Could you please show the themes version in the list. I have v3 and v4 themes and I don't know which one is where. And for all other reasons a version is always good to show.

Hi Wolfgang,

this is quite simple. When you have V3 map (LoMaps), you will in the list see only V3 themes. For V4+ maps, you will see V4+ themes.

Hi Menion,

did you see my screenshot I have double entries, that contradicts your statement, if I only should see one single version.

I saw it, but I'm sure, it won't be an app problem. Maybe you have the old version extracted in the directory and the new version of these themes that already use "zip"? The most simple solution is to remove them both and install the latest version.

Ok I just deleted them and installed them from new. I have them since years - maybe old stuff...

Thanks.
