Title for this idea is not clear. Can you change it in something like "More map choice for the web planner"?

A trick to ease the pain, if you use a Samsung phone is to connect it with Samsung DeX to your PC. Then your phone screen appears on the big screen of the PC ...

In the webplanner more map, think about To select a Open street map or satelite map like that.

Yes I used to make my planning with ViewRanger. It WAS wonderfull until they were bought by Outdooractive.

For planning of activities in the Alps I need to have access to precise topomaps like swisstopo maps or IGN Maps

I would like the maps from OAM in Planner. Actually, I need the OAM theme. I have gold but plan everything with the phone, because the planner has the display differently than in the phone.

Yes, please enable other maps overlays as possible in the app, satelite Ortofoto e.g.

We have implemented map switcher component. You can find it on the right side of the map. Currently online LoMap and Satellite map (only with Premium Gold) are available. We plan to add more options in the future but it is not as easy as it seems to be (license, integration with LoPoints layer, ...). It will take some time so please, be patient :).

I am marking this topic as "completed". In the meantime, please, add particular maps you would like to see in Web planner as separate ideas. I will be most helpful to to include:

  • name
  • motivation / need to use that map
  • link
  • screenshot

Kind regards, Ondrej

Within the Android app, I regularly use the following maps:

  • OSM - Classic, motivation: good general purpose map for cities with great details
  • OSM - OpenHikingMap, motivation: hiking
  • OSM - OpenCycleMap, motivation: cycling
  • OSM - ÖPNVMap, motivation: trip planning
  • LoMaps, motivation: mainly as fallback, because it is downloadable
  • LoMaps satellite, motivation: helps to produce images in my head

Due to personal circumstances, I was unable to respond quickly.

But what I mean is that there is more choice in the types of layers that you can choose, as you can do in the app.

So choice a layer of openStreetMap or another layer

Definitely I would like to be able to use the maps that I have purchased like IGN maps of france. Very usefull as well are OudoorS and opencyle maps.

Google map is also often usefull for me. I typically open google street view or satelite view in another windows which give me a first good impression of the environment where I plan my hikes. The ability to use the same map in your planner (google street) and in a separate window with google street view make things much easier than if for example Lomaps is in the planner.

Really impatient to see this implemented!

Big thanks

It can be different for everyone.

I use a lot of OpenStreetMaps, because most of the paths are there too. I miss that with Google Maps.

Hi, nice to see new option here. It might help planning the trip, when you have sat imagery available.

On the other hand I'd like to be able to use OpenCycleMap for bike trips, as it contains well visible bike routes, and it's more convenient in most cases. Hope it will be possible someday.

nice, that's useful!

The only thing I noticed is the transition from the zoom level 1km to 2km. The pixels on the 2km zoom level are huge on my 32" screen. I have the feeling this zoom level should use the map image from the 1km zoom level.
