While navigating with locus Maps it would be great if I could minimize locus Maps (like Google Maps ob Android) open another App and still see how to navigate on my Route. Picture and settings example See attach.

Hello Johannes

nice idea, thanks for it. And because I was curious how this may be done, here is it, in the latest Beta version: https://forum.locusmap.eu/index.php?topic=7885.msg67462#msg67462

You're awesome 😂🤙 I Check it out and give you feedback. Hopefully, in a potential final version this happens automatically when navigating and minimizing/suspending locus maps 👆 (only if pip is activated/allowed in Smartphone/App Settings)

Unfortunately this doesn't work yet for me. I tap the Button in the mentioned toolbar (screeny 1). Then a message is Shown which says: "an App which is necessary for this function is not found"

Thanks for the quick test! This is surprising result, hmm. I'll check it more precisely and let you know here.

Maybe you can adjust the height of the pip for visualizing more of the route/track? 🤔

Super guys, thanks for testing.

I'll definitely look at it as there are some issues already reported on the forum & some space for fine-tunning (like auto-rotation route-up, a little higher box instead of "square" etc).

Great to see this officially in the newest Version! 🙂🙏🤙

But, if I may be honest: the feature would be most useful, if the picture in picture Mode would be activated automatically, when the app is left via Home Button on Android phones, like it is done in Google Maps 😎

Thanks for the reminder, I wanted to do this and forget. I'll add this as optional settings into app navigation settings.

Ah back sorry. Seems there is a big technical problem because of how I implemented this feature so this is currently not possible, thanks for understanding.

Hmmm, ok. Could you keep this in your backlog for further versions? I am really convinced that this feature will be extremely useful and popular if it works automatically!
