Solved

Hi. It seems I can no longer access the "Cartes IGN" for which I have a valid subscription (1299 Lo-coins on 15 July 2021). Any ideas?

In addition, when I tried to download a small area of IGN mapping, which I have done many times before with no difficulty, it fails with the following message - see attached screenshot. The Map Manager clearly shows that my subscription is valid. Any help appreciated.

Hi,

I'm sorry there is bug in the latest version where Cartes IGN doesn't work properly. We'll prepare the fix version in the next days.

Thank you for the understanding

Merci, Petr

Hi,

please update (via Google Play app) on the latest version (3.60.2) - the mentioned issue is already fixed.

Locus Map PRO has been renamed Locus Map Classic, because there is a new app - Locus Map 4. Locus Map Classic has all the same features as LM PRO and you can still use it. But LM 4 brings some additional features and a new user interface that could not be implemented in the LM PRO. More about this change is mentioned in the Locus Map Classic > Main Menu > "Locus Map PRO changes to Locus Map Classic"

Thanks, Petr

Hi Petr

Some feedback for you. The download problem has been partially resolved, but another issue has come to light. Previously, where one downloaded IGN mapping to the highest resolution, the maximum zoom level took you beyond the excellent 25k "TOP25" series and into an even more detailed (though less useful) mapping which I'm calling 10k, though this is not mapping you can purchase on paper. I have a parallel subscription to IGN maps through another app, and I attach a comparison showing the higher level of detail. The problem is that this highest level is no longer downloaded in Locus Map Classic, or even available online within the app. Instead, you just get an ever bigger (and fuzzier) look at the 25k mapping. Can you nudge IGN to restore the highest level mapping please? Many thanks.

Hi David,

the mentioned "10k" layer was called SCAN EXPRESS. This layer was removed by IGN and replaced by a re-scaled 25k layer. There is an official statement about this change (in FR) https://geoservices.ign.fr/actualites/2021-10-05-arret-de-la-diffusion-du-scan-express

We added at least a PlanV2 map as an alternative map to the former Scann Express layer. I'm sorry we can't influence the structure of map layers - it's defined by IGN.

Thank you for understanding

Petr

Hi Petr

Thanks for your explanation. Your PlanV2 map layer is very good I think. So a question: is it possible to use both IGN and PlanV2 together, in other words can I use the IGN down to 25k, then as I zoom further it switches to the PlanV2?

If this isn’t possible, then how can I download some PlanV2 coverage for offline use - I only see it available when I click “Online” in map manager.

Thanks as always.

Hi David,

I'm sorry but this isn't possible (to combine topo map with PlanV2 for the most detailed zoom). It's too complicated because Topo is charged.

The PlanV2 can be downloaded via Online Maps as you mentioned: Map manager > Online > Plan V2 > options > Download > select area for downloading

Thanks, Petr
