Very difficult mountain tours for pedestrians

Here's an example:

This route is generated for the "Pedestrian" profile, although it is very difficult and requires climbing in some places. In OSM this path is classified as T4, T5 would be better!

I use Locus Map Classic and the BRouter. I have the problem with all maps on the app and with the Wep planner.

So, your problem is, you ask BRouter for a route to Mount Everest "on foot", but it's not presenting an appropriate route for your 112 year old wheel chair driving grandpa? 😜

What is your expectation, btw?

In principle, he is right. He may have chosen the wrong example. But that can also happen to him in the low mountain range. When I plan a Sunday stroll as a pedestrian, I don't want to be led along such paths.

Therefore, the paths should be restricted for pedestrians. With hiking, you can leave everything open.

Hello all. We decided to enable difficult paths for walking profiles as the better option compared to not providing any route at all (of course T3+ sections are avoided if reasonably possible) . What we think we should do here is to issue clear warning, visible in the planner.

@ Radim:

Yes, there are 3 profiles on foot. 1. walking, it is intended for paved roads with normal shoes. 2. hiking, here are also unpaved paths possible. Normal only with sturdy shoes. 3. climbing, it is meant for demanding mountain hiking.

For 1. walking I would warn already from T2 (T2 is nothing for normal footwear.

For 2. hiking I would warn from T3+.

For 3. climbing I would not warn at all.

Hello

What do you think about not generating routes with T2 and higher for the "walk" profile and not generating routes with T3 and higher for the "hike" profile.

For the "Car" profile, no routes marked as hiking trails are generated.
