How to export a customized dashboard

Amund Nordland shared this problem 17 months ago
Solved

When moving my Locus map from old to new phone I generated a security copy of all settings from the old one and restored to the new. Seems to work fine for all layouts, exept that it does not find my customized dahboard. Any way to make this work?

each dashboard has its own .LB file in the Locus/data/dashboard directory

just copy the file(s) from old to new device - easy

Hi Andrew, For the life of me I cannot find this dashboard dir. Is it encrypted/hidden now for viewing by a file manager? Can you recommend how to view? I have a saved .lb dash file that I wish to copy over. Thanks for any info.

Update. Oh I have Locus Classic V3. Maybe this is why?

Hi Shane. I've used LM3 & now LM4. Pretty sure the structure hasn't changed. But the Locus "root" directory will depend on the Android version. Locate that directory 1st then Locus/data? I use SolidExplorer for files but I don't think these files are hidden or anything special. A search for "*.LB" will find them. It could be under /Android/. Maybe LM support can comment here...

LM3 here and under Anrdoid 12 they are in /storage/emulated/0/Android/data/menion.android.locus.pro/files/Locus/data/dashboard

where 0 = zere

Hello,

if you are using recommended private directory then it should be here:

LM3 - Android/data/menion.android.locus.pro/files/Locus/data/dashboard

LM4 - Android/data/menion.android.locus/files/Locus/data/dashboard

Some file browsers do have not permission to browse these folders. In this case, we recommend Total commander, Solid Explorer, or X-plore.

Thank you all. I run on LineageOS for many years now without any probs, but it appears something screwy went on with latest upgrade. I will rectify. Can see the directory structure in recovery but not once OS is loaded.

You can always connect your phone to your PC via cable and manage files from there.

Have got a workaround for the issue...but not sure why I have had to do this. I cannot access the data folder structure from any file manager when locus is stored on the SDcard. I moved it back to internal memory and then can see and access normally including dashboard folder etal. All my vector and raster maps remain on the SDcard and visible etc in the standard 'media' folder structure. Happens with both Lineage 18.1 and crDroid ROMs

Hello, Lineage OS is problematic in some cases.

Anyway - we recommend having the core of the app in the internal memory and only SRTM or maps in the SD card because of the performance of the app.

So your solution should be optimal.

When I switched to a new phone 3 months ago, I restored/ installed the standard Locus backup from my old phone and it contained all my dashboars too.
