Support dark theme

Hi Menion,

I ask you, if you can support AMOLED display? It would be nice to have black background and light letters and icons at all menus.

Thanks a lot

I would also prefer a dark theme as offered by many apps.

Today Locus has many light menus and few dark ones (GPS screen e.g.).

not a big Robin. Because of complexity of Locus and need to have for all icons also inverse color, it`s task on many days ... and 12 votes cannot convince me to spend time on this instead of many more important tasks. But I definitely don`t say never

Hello guys,

I did some changes to layout and colors/gui/icons of Locus last months. It's maybe not visible, but I want to say, that now it's even more complicated to create different color schema for whole application.

So sorry, but I have to close this idea as "declined" for now.

Neberu to tragicky. A komu to vadi at si koupi IPS.

If I remember correctly, this topic is almost two years old. With new changes I'm currently doing in Locus themes & Android L, this topic is now again possible. Not so simple, but possible. So happy voting.

I know it doesn't help fully like a dark color scheme, but are users aware of the Night mode? I used it recently for cycle touring at night, and it was fantastic. Well done Locus team.

Good day to all,

unfortunately I have to announce, that with increasing complexity of Locus Map, this idea is going to be more and more complicated. To be true, imagination that I'll create a secondary theme, is my small nightmare.

So excuse me, but I have to close this idea and stop your hopes.

Thank you for understanding and I hope, there will not be a lot of sad faces!

Hello Menion, even when this question is declined, I would kindly ask for creating a dark theme. Geocaching at night is Ok with the dark maps, but after looking at the logs or creating waypoints we need a break to recover our night sight... Isn't there any way to reverse the colors of background and letters? It's nearly impossible to dim the screen to a level where a proper night sight is still practicable...

Thanks a lot in advance!

Hello Max, did you tried for example this method? http://www.tech-recipes.com/rx/40014/android/ . I works on my device quite well. Not sure if it is really usable as it inverts really everything, but at least something.

So if the idea is declined, at least this application should help during high hunting:

Personally I use it and I don't complain for eyes burning;)

Thanks a lot to both of you! I'll give it a try...

Hello guys,

after five years, I'm changing the status of this topic to "Completed". The native dark mode is now available in Locus Map 47. Enjoy it.
