Classic crashing since Android 13 as soon as watch client connects

My Locus Pro / Classic instantly crashes since the Upgrade to Android 13 (Galaxy S21) as soon as I open the watch client on Galaxy Watch 3 (Tizen).

Hope this can be fixed, watch client is a very important part of my Locus usage on mountain hiking. Bought an old watch 3 instead of 4/5 this year, because I preferred the Tizen client and the ability to zoom with the bezel..

In Android bug report / dumpstate.txt I found (multiple tries after re-starting Locus on phone):

Hello,

problem with Tizen is known and we are working on a solution.

Unfortunately, the problem is on the Tizen side and we don't know when (or if) they produce the fixed version.

I am sorry I can't tell you the better news right now.

I am also affected. I don't why the Android App crashing should be Tizens fault? Even if there ia a problem in the Tizen side the Android App shouldn't Crash.

OK, Thank you, good to know at least its on the radar.

Out of interest: error in the Tizen OS itself, so fix needs new firmware (or at least other OS part update), or problem in the Locus watch client, but you cannot provide update in Galaxy store without Samsung?

Not having the watch client feels a bit amputated on hiking.. (wondering if I need to start looking for a different solution)

What does Samsung/Tizen need to do?

And why can't at least the crash be prevented (even if then the client still cannot get what it needs)?

Hello guys,

from the Samsung side - still no news. Yesterday we published an update of Locus with some fixes and according to our testing, it should help even for the Tizen. But according to the feedback, there are still many crashes.

The only solution that (how it looks) works on most devices is battery optimization exclusion:

Exclude Locus from all optimization means so the app can run in the background. Instructions on how to do it are summed up here: https://docs.locusmap.app/doku.php?id=manual:faq:gps_lost_fix_android6 or here: https://dontkillmyapp.com/.

Just having started it up and moving around a bit on the map, it looks good (no immediate crash of Locus-on-phone on starting the watch client). No optimization excludes yet (but usually Samsung phones do not overshoot there like some Chinese manufacturers e.g. I think). No hiking plans the next days, but I will sure test it in the not-so-far future. If you say "feedback", is there some forum thread to use then?

For the moment, big hopes its fixed, Thanks a lot.
