Orientaion lock in map screen - portrait is upside-down

Magrat shared this problem 11 years ago
Solved

When I set the Display option to lock the screen rotation off in portrait mode, it works fine except that it is upside-down to the way I normally hold my Nexus 7. There should be an extra option to say which way is up.

Good day Magrat,

you are using older Nexus 7 or new Nexus 7 II? Just to be sure.

Anyway this seems to be more a problem on your device. Firstly no one reported such issue. Secondly in code I may set orientation to "PORTRAIT" or "REVERSE_PORTRAIT". I also use first option so it should work (and it works on all devices), as expected.

So may you try it once more? And last one - you are using original ROM?

The older version Nexus 7 as bought.

Let me explain what I tried.

Settings:Display:Oroentation lock. Settimgs - Map Screen. Orientation - Landscape mode.

Bacause of the case I have when I hold the Nexus for a Landscape display the camera is positioned to the right.

Switching back to the map and holding the nexus in Landscape the map is upside-down.

I could turn the Nexus upside-down but, because of the case, it isn't as easy to hold.

For such a fantistic program that is SO customisable I feel there should be another option - Reverse Landscape, maybe?

I don't understand your comment "Secondly in code I may set......."?

Ah! Sorry! Stupid me. I've just spotted my original question Title. It should be "Landscape" not "Portrait"

No problem, it do not change anything.

May you please for example try this application, if basic "Landscape" lock is same as in Locus or also "reverse"? Thanks

Thanks for the reply. I've tried that program and "Reverse Landscape" is what I'd like, however the Free version locks it that way for all apps! I uninstalled it. Many thanks for listening, I've decided just to live with the way Locus works - it's a stunning program already!

Hi,

perfect, thanks for test. That's what I expected. Locus use only "Landscape" and "Portrait". Not it's reversed possibilities. So what happen to you device is not a problem in Locus, but fact that you really need a reverse mode as you wrote.

Because I believe it may be from time to time useful also for other people, I'll add this option to next version.
