One Icon or label for one POI

I imported the dock numbers for the Port of Antwerp.

I'd like the icon to scale down and be the descriptive label e.g. 203. I can do it in Google Maps Lite Engine via an Excel file.

See the three attached screenshots.

Note : the Locus screenshot does not show the label, but I can see it In Locus by clicking on the icon.

Good day Philippe,

I'm not 100% sure I understand what you want to achieve.

You want to display all points together with small labels? If so, for this exists menu > settings > Maps - objects & styles > Show labels (waypoints) > Always. Unfortunately this is global settings so expect that all! points will be visible together with it's labels. It is not possible to set this settings to specific folder.

Yes, that helps.

Is it possible to hide the altitude from the label ?

And the POI grouping also helps.

The icon size can also be reduced in Locus. Very nice.

I did not find the solution because in Settings it says "(Waypoints)"

Altitude currently cannot be hidden, but it is planned to add this settings probably during January/February.

Glad it helps!

For your information.

I noticed when using .gpx files there is no altitude shown, as there is when using the .kmz file format for example. See and test with files in attachment.

You cannot say it generally like "GPX" - no altitude, "KML" - always altitude.

It always depend, if this parameter is available in imported file or not.

Hi Menion,

I think there is no altitude information available in both files. But in the .kml/.kmz version in Locus the label display is name + ( 0m) . Just my observation no more ;-). I was curious, so did a short test because I never noticed such a label text in my Waypoint names when using my local POI "knooppunten.gpx" file. In attachment that same .gpx file as above but now with the altitude info added. Regards. Willy.

Cannot agree

Check: https://developers.google.com/kml/documentation/kmlreference#point

A geographic location defined by longitude, latitude, and (optional) altitude.

But! in KML file from your previous post is defined point as

  1. <Point>
  2. <coordinates>4.31654,51.2336,0</coordinates>
  3. </Point>

which means, that altitude is set to 0!

If you simply remove altitude as

  1. <Point>
  2. <coordinates>4.31654,51.2336</coordinates>
  3. </Point>

I'm sure, it won't be visible in Locus labels.

Good teacher, fine lesson ;-)

Yes correct, tested now by manual edit and precisely as described. I had no idea where altitude was 'hiding', in the "klm" file. You pointed me to the correct place, thanks. My used convertor software, no setting to delete "altitude, from original .klm file to .gpx eliminated the "altitude" field, so maybe a bug ? But unexpectedly was also resulting in a fine compact name field in Locus map display. A convertor online tool converted .klm to .gpx files correct. Noticed also that most programs converting towards .klm seems to add that (optional) altitude (,0) even without real altitude info available in the source.

Regards, Willy.
