Waypoint label - name and other content

Hi, is it possible to configure the content of the waypoint label? At this moment there is name of the POI and altitude, but i would like to reduce the size of the label by removing the altitude information, or in other hand i would like to add different information. Is that possible and how?

Regarding to this page http://docs.locusmap.eu/doku.php?id=manual:settings:map_objects iam missing the Altitude position option in the settings, which might be the thing iam looking for.

Please consider this as an Idea if these options are not present yet. I think it could be very useful for many ppl to configure the content of the POI labels, don't you think? :-)

As always, thank you for your time :)

Hello,

- disabling of altitude in popup will be possible in next version

- customization of content is not planned. What you need to see in this label?

- settings of altitude was removed in previous version as new label works in different way and it was not possible to place altitude above point icon as in old versions

Hi, i will be happy with disabling the altitude for now.

But some additional settings for labels would be useful in the future.

At this moment i can think about following values: altitude (already possible), distance and speed, not sure what could be useful or even possible to get & display. The speed might be hard to get imo, it could be from different resources: nmea sentence, network KML, or something else?

I'm not sure if we speak about same think. Labels are just quick information about certain point (already existing) or address (long-click) on a map. So speed (current?) do not have any sense here as point is already stored and current speed has nothing to do with point on map.

Well, yes, we are still talking about waypoints/POIs and their labels with quick informations to overlook the selected map area with multiple points.

These points could be also moving, if you get the data from special resources. Of course, if we talk about fixed waypoints, such as Geocaches, there is no need for speed of course, but distance for example would be interesting.

I have attached some screenshots so you can see, what iam talking about. BTW, there is also possible to get weather data, such as temperature, wind, pressure, etc. :-)

But anyway, as i said, if you move back the option to dissable the altitude, i will be happy for now ;-)

understand, thanks for comment.

Please keep in mind, that small labels that are permanently visible on map, can't be extended by information you talk about. At least not in a simple way.

Only that may be extended are labels visible when you tap on a point. I completely forget on possibility to have dynamic points over Network link. Anyway to be true, I'm currently not a fan of extending of these labels as I wants to keep them as simple as possible.

Yeah ok, i understand an respect that. I just wanted to explain what iam talking about little more :-)

As i said, i will be happy with the option to dissable the altitude and thats it.

Thank you for your time!

When creating a point in v 3.5.3, no altitude is shown in the label. However, when importing a point or set of points from .kmz file, these points are still depicted on map with a (false) altitude in the label.

I agree that labels should be as simple as possible, only useful extra information for me would be information about how many other points are hidden under a certain label or point. Now I can only see that by tapping on a point.

Hello Roelof,

problem with altitude from KML was solved here few days ago, but now I'm unable to find it. Anyway issue is in KML file where is probably altitude value (usually 0), which should not be there.

Indeed, altitude values are always 0 as far as I see (Holland is quite flat though, so this could be correct haha).

I usually use imported .kml/.kmz processed by ArcGis.

If problem is solved, I hope in later versions it doesn't occur anymore?

Thx for support

A I wrote, "o" altitude is not a problem in Locus, but in ArcGis that

export KML file with "0" altitude value. So problem won't be solved,

but! it will be possible to disable altitudes at all.

Ok, as long as I don't see it in the label, it's fine with me.

I can't remember this an issue in older Locus versions but I'm not sure.

Hello, you may simply enable similar smaller labels for certain folder (in settings of folder) or globally in settings of application (settings > Map - objects & styles > Point popup content > Labels on map > Always). Suggest to try it.

Thank you very much !

I have set it, but the label still can not be displayed.

And, I found they are same effect after set to Never, On hover or Always.

This may a bug ?

hmm there will be probably a problem that you are just zoomed too far away. Try to zoom in a little bit.

Thank you again.

Sorry, you are right. Now I can see label after zoom in. Great !

However,

if it can be drag near between waypoint and label, that is very well.

And, if the label is transparent, best !

if the label's position is right , more beautiful !

Thank you again.

You are welcome.

Unfortunately no extra modifications of these small popups are possible.
