Shortest way

Maik Münch shared this question 9 years ago

When I am using Locus Pro on my bike as navigation on a path that I know for sure is the shortest, Locus doesn't consider that route as shortest although all paths are on the map. PS: I am using Broute, maybe that is the software I've address the problem to.

Maybe this is more a "how to use BRouter" Question.

Try to read/ask in Locus forum about "BRouter"

btw.

If you plan to ask in the forum:

Give us some example coords to reproduce your problem.

Maik - I had a similar question - it turns out to be wrong data in the OSM database rather than a Locus or BRouter problem - see https://groups.google.com/forum/#!topic/osm-android-bikerouting/hrmotgOiKoQ. I updated the OSM data although can't confirm it works yet, the maps take a while to update.

Hi Andrew,

Thank you for the very good hint. However, there is no path that might be described as motorway. But I think where this is coming from. On http://brouter.de/brouter-web/ there is a profile that is called "shortest". That really gives me the shortest connection between to points. But Locus doesn't know that Profile "shortest". I think that is pretty much it.

For me using offline vector maps Locus displays car/Fast, car/Short, bike/Fast, bike/Short, walking. Why do you say "Locus doesn't know that Profile "shortest"? It is BRouter that sets the mapping between the selected profile and the BRouter script. Open the file on your phone -

@Maik - this questions is already marked as Answered

So I recommend to start a constructive discussion on Locus forum for more information also with other members and BRouter-professionals. because this is not only a "Locus problem" ([GER] Gerne auch im deutschen Bereich)
