Mapdetails: List Tilesize

Sonny shared this idea 19 days ago
Completed

Within an online- and offline Maps' detail screen: Please also list Tilesize (mostly 256px or 512px) of the map, since nowadays both values are commonly used. Best right after field "ZOOMS"

Reason: The resoltion of a map (meter per pixel) depends on both parameters, Zoom and Tilesize. So e.g. maps with Zoom 15+Tilesize 256px and Zoom 15+Tilesize 512px are of different resolution. And just if tilesize is listed too, a user could value the map's resolution

Finally Tilesizes' info would also be intersting in the top status bar field "Map", cause Zoom value is not enough to value resolution. Either somehow as part of the icon (little 256 or 512 text) or next to Zoom. 256|15 is different from 512|15

Hello Sonny,

info in the map detail > oki, make sense, added.

Extra info directly on the map > sorry, this is too much for most of users I believe, thanks for understanding.

I think there's a bug regarding OFFLINE maps only: Right now DPI-value of phone is taken into account by mistake:
E.g. a map consinsting of 256px-tiles on a DPI 2.0-phone AND "Optimize raster map resolution"=on, is listed as 512px-map

Another question: Offline vector maps like LoMaps or OpenAndroMaps are listed as "704px". Is this correct? Are these maps divided into tiles at all internally?

Hmm I've expected there would be a problem.

I'll look at it, but small warning > maybe I'd rather remove this feature in the end. It is an internal parameter of the map I usually do not have access to. And vector maps, yes, they are tilled in various sizes that best fit current device.

Please not remove :-) Just bugfix that offline maps are recognized like online maps. Online maps perfectely recognize 256px and 512px maps, undependend of "Optimize raster map resolution"-setting
