Locus Map Web: save planned track not working

Franz Graf shared this problem 26 days ago
Solved

Hello,

When I plan a track (with or without routing doesn't matter) and click Save, a window opens with

Save to My librarySave planned route to My library and sync it with your mobile devices

The Save button of this window is grayed out, so I cannot save the track.

Any ideas? Thank you.

Hi Franz,

what Premium plan do you have? Are you logged into your Locus account on the web?

Hello Michal,

Sorry for the late reply. I have Premium Gold and I'm logged in and have all points and tracks in My Library available. I plan a track with two points, routing works, I press Save and get the window below with Save grayed out.

Franz, have you tried reloading the page? (if not, try it with Ctrl+F5) What app version do you have? Did your app perform migration to the new Library? The correct saving dialog contains fields for the name, description, folder and type of activity:

I reloaded the page, logged out/in, still the same. My Locus Map app version is 4.28.3 (in the app I can save a track, but not in Locus Map Web). I migrated to the new library, which works generally very well - besides the save problem.

I tried more and find that I can save tracks in some countries like Austria, but not in eastern Turkey or in Mongolia.

I deleted the cookies and restarted the browser, Web app, logged out/in. Once a while it works, often it doesn't, and sometimes I get the message "Saving route warnings to My Library is not currently supported. If you want to get your planned route, including warnings, to your mobile phone, share the route directly from the planner using the link."

That's OK - route warnings are not saved yet but your route is saved.

Maybe I'm wrong, but after more testing I get the impression that the problem has to do with the name creation of the route. If the start point of a route can get a name (because it is near a city or village), the route can be saved. E.g. in Kazakhstan, I set the start point to Karagandy and the end point to Astana. It can be saved under Karaganda → Astana. If now I drag the start point away from Karagandy, the route can no more be saved. (Same if I reverse the route and drag the end point away from Karagandy.)

This would also explain why in Mongolia I cannot save any shorter track, because there are simply no villages around.

That's very important information - I managed to simulate the issue and I can forward it to the devs. This is definitely a bug. Thanks!
