Web Planner: Elevation chart auto popup

Hi
When starting to plot a route, after adding the second point the elevation chart automatically appears. I can't see any option to prevent this currently.
If using it a lot this becomes extremely irritating IMO. I always have to hide it before continuing.
It also disappears automatically when deleting the second point which is also annoying but not something done as often.
However after hiding it once then the auto-popup is disabled until the route is cleared or page reloaded.

Issues:-

The sidebar is also present (which is fine - by default you would expect that) but with the chart also displayed there is a huge amount of screen space taken up leaving not very much map to do the route plotting. It would be logical to only display the chart when you want/need to.

Very often the chart pops up over the top of where I'm adding points. Really annoying. The movement of the popup is itself disconcerting. I'm just about to add the third point and the moving popup interferes.

Showing the elevation chart when there are only two points is often "pointless" - as there often aren't enough points or enough of the route yet to warrant showing the chart, unless you add the start and end points and let it generate the entire route.

It's not consistent with the Android route planner - there the equivalent of the sidebar (bottom bar and stats bar) is present but the elevation chart only displays when requested.

So, is there any chance this could be fixed so that the chart only appears when explicitly requested ?
Alternatively remember the chart auto popup status across restarts (save in cookie) so the user can choose.

Hi Alan,

we are in the process to significantly improve how the web planner remembers its state for individual users. We will try to not forget also about this aspect, although it would not come in the first wave of such related changes. Don't hesitate to put it as idea for others to vote on this if we will take our time to handle this please.

BTW, on what resolution are you using web planner when this is issue for you?

Best, Jan

Hi Jan,
I normally use 1920 x 1080. The chart uses up just over 25% of the screen space. It's more at lower resolution of course - e.g. 1600 x 900 its about 36%.
Glad to hear you will be including state retention in future.

Since raising this item I found a way to block the chart popping up, so for now I no longer have the problem, but it would still be better if the option is included in the app.
