GPX export and import ignores track's time metadata and replaces by export time

How to reproduce:

  • Export track to local file system
  • Import same track

Expected result:

  • The day of the track of the original track and the imported track is equal (in the attached example 2025-04-23)

Actual result:

  • The day of the imported track is the export time (in the attached example 2025-05-31)

Potential reason:

  • During export, Locus writes the gpx > metadata > time tag equal to the export time. Either this should be the original time or during import, the time of the first track point should be used.

The attached example was recorded on 2025-04-23 and shows up as this date before export. What I attach is the exported file, which I then used to import, and which then showed up as 2025-05-31.

Is this intended behavior?

Thank you very much for any feedback!

Hi Jannis,

we have fixed a similar issue recently. Please test it with the latest beta version, available at https://bit.ly/lmVersionsTest and let me know the result. Thanks

Dear Michal, thank you very much for the quick reply! I have tried it with 4.29.0.8 and see the same 's not a major problem since I now have a python script to fix it. I very much appreciate the great app and I am a proud subscriber! :)
