yes, open the track detail, tap the arrow button next to the waypoints and add waypoints including photo attachments. More at https://docs.locusmap.app/doku.php?id=manual:user_guide:tracks:about#waypoints

I knew this but I would like to insert the photo at the end of the tour without creating the waypoints first. The position of the image on the track would be taken from the geotag of the photo itself

Try this:
1) display the photos on the map vith the "geotagged photos" tool
2) open the track in the route planner and add the photos to the track as viapoints

I think a step was missed
after step 1, click on the photo , click the + bottom left to make a geotag photo in to a locus photo point
then when you edit track, you can copy a photo point to be a waypoint with photo attached at the corresponging geotaged coordinates...
what would be better is if a track acted as a folder for waypoints.....

I know about the feature but the geotagged tool should only geotag photos from a certain day or week. Not the thousands of photos I have on my phone. It becomes a very long job and in the end one does without it
