Track point without date info

GarenKreiz shared this problem 9 years ago
Solved

When sorting the 1000+ managed by Locus, I found that a few of them have only one trackpoint without any time tag (checked in GPX exports). Locus considers that there is no Start or End point and doesn't display anything on the map :-(. As the track itself have a time tag that is its creation date, this time could be used also to tag the trackpoint.

Hello Garen,

am I understanding correctly, you have stored tracks with just one trackpoint? I'm sure, there is a lot of places in Locus, where Locus check amount of trackpoints and in case of amount less then three, there may happen unexpected things. Maybe like this one ...

...one trackpoint without any time tag...

Yes, only one point and without a timestamp. In that case, the track/point is not displayed on the map.

Hmm then I should consider this issue as incorrect, because problem for me is that Locus allow to store track with just one trackpoint.

Maybe 2 different issues :

- storing a trackpoint without the time information although it is available (timestamp of the track itself)

- default to display a single point track : using importation (files attached), I checked that a 2 points track is ok but a 1 point track is not displayed (can't decide between start or end icons?).

Good day Garen,

I still think that track with single trackpoint is a main issue, not some other problems you mentioned. So I hope I to next version disabled possibility to store track with single trackpoint or import track with single trackpoint. Thanks for understanding.

Such one-trackpoint tracks seems for me to be really useless, so you should delete them if there is not any serious reason to keep them.

Ok, I understand. I will manually edit them (either transform them in POI or add a timestamp and duplicate the trkpt with 1 second interval).

Thanks for looking
