Clickable MBTILES for Map Overlays

My clickable MBTILES maps work great when selected as my main base map, but is there a way to enable the same functionality when my MBTILES map is used as an overlay? I typically use an aerial map as my base and a MBTILES map as my overlay. I have never been able to get my maps to blend well when using the Aerial map as the overlay.
